Human Trafficking.

somethings cost more than you realise.

Trafficking is a crime that violates the basic rights of its victims: the rights to freedom, equality, and dignity.
- Bill Roedy, Vice Chairman MTV Networks.

Just thought I would post my thoughts on a video i watched during Sociology lecture.

We were on the topic of how the rich and wealthy have the power to oppress disadvantaged groups.

In Sociology terms, Global Stratifcation.

I did a simple yahoo search on

"(Nike/Adidas/Cocoa - chocolate ) (child trafficking/labour)"

Here we're talking about child trafficking/ forced child labour. Spare a few minutes, really:

(original youtube video)

The video depicts a day in the life of both an affluent youngster and a child making shoes in a factory.

------

Life's not fair. He has a rich dad, gets more money in a day than I do for a week. Why can't I have a dad like his?

Life's not fair. She's fat and ugly, and yet, her boyfriend is so handsome. Why don't I have one even though I'm so much prettier than she is?

Life's not fair. Some people can slack and score so well. I score dirt even though I work hard everyday.

How many times have we complained that life's not fair?

Humans tend to take comfort for granted when it's given to them. They don't thank, they don't do anything.

Life's not fair? These children do not even have a choice.

Life's not fair? Some children were borned to condemned professions, such as cleaners, under a caste-ridden society.

Life's not fair? Thousands got wiped out in the tsunami, they didn't saw it coming, and now they're all dead.

Life's not fair? Millions of innocent babies' dreams were shattered even before they stepped into earth. It wasnt even their fault. Read: Abortion.

So now... life's not fair?

To conclude, thank God for each and everyday, no matter if it was a good day, or a bad one.
