How to survive life

A bit lengthy but nevertheless its a good read;

"The most important is this: do not work.

Work is anything that you are compelled to do. By its very nature, it is undesirable.

Work kills. The Japanese have a term "Karoshi", which means death from overwork. That's the most dramatic form of how work can kill. But it can also kill you in more subtle ways. If you work, then day by day, bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there's nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust.

There's a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are "making a living". No, they're not. They're dying, frittering away their fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless and, at worst, harmful.

People will tell you that work ennobles you, that work lends you a certain dignity. Work makes you free. The slogan "Arbeit macht frei" (work shall set you free) was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps. Utter nonsense.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play.

Find something you enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will have value in itself."

// Extracted.

Thats why I am so free. Been playing everyday.

"Why" questions.

We live in a world where sometimes things just happen.

When things happen, people often ask "Why did this happen?" They are asking the wrong question.

Asking such questions or blaming others will only make the pain worse.

Instead the real question is, what does He wants us to learn from it.

Because sometimes we do not have the answers to all of life's questions.

The only reason we ask a "why" question, is that we feel we are entitled to have a total understanding for everything.

I dont think we will ever find it out.

No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all his efforts to search it out, man cannot discover its meaning.

Even if a wise man claims he knows, he cannot really comprehend it.

But if you ever go along one day without asking "why" and seeing what you can do about things as they are, you will find that it is like being let out of prison.

You can be freed from the fustration.

hohoho

Poles are expensive.
Nevermind, the grass is always greener on the other side.

Other than that, regrets are worthless.

Self-pity is destructive. Never wallow in your own self-pity.

Self praise is a disgrace to the human race.
Often people praise themselves, in a vain attempt to cover up their low self-esteem, they feel inside.

Yes there is a time and season for everything.

A time to mourn, to dance, to weep, to laugh, to tear down, to build up, to love, to hate.

People often live the greater part of each day, wandering far back into the shadows of a daunting past, or far ahead into the dread of an imagined future.

The only way to live is by accepting each minute as an unrepeatable minute, which is exactly what it is - a miracle and unrepeatable.

Laugh. Love. Live.

HUAT AH!!!!!

I have fond memories of St Patricks School. For that, in the spirit of teachers day, it would be appropriate for me to express my gratitude.

Should my teachers ever be very bored at home one day and decide to Google their name, I hope they come across my little space and read this.

To me, st pats was a place where students studied and where teachers cared and loved us.

We may not be as brilliant as those from RI or ACS, but we have great school spirit.

If a person, however brilliant, however wealthy and however talented, is not proud of his school, then there is something very wrong with him.

Thank You teachers of SPS. you had a great impact in my life;

mr lak (i hate to say this, but you're quite a genius..) vp yong. ms norisa. mrs choo. mr brandon lee. mr rajinder gill. mrs saviour. ms tang. ms teng. mrs ong. mdm niza.

Words cant say what a school can do..

Due to rising inflation, a picture is now worth a million words.

In conclusion, it seems one thing has been true along:

"When you're in st pats, you swear you cant wait to get out, but when you're out... you seriously thank God you went to st pats." - words from a wise friend.

Once a Patrician, always a Patrician.
